One Trillion Frames a Second, Coming soon to your iPhone.

The folks at MIT have come up with a camera that captures one million frames a seconds. This is the same group that once captured the now famous picture of a bullet going through an apple.

You need 100,000 frames a second to capture a bullet going through an apple. What can you capture with 1,000,000,0000,000 frames per second? The answer is “Light”. Imagine making the x-ray obsolete.

Are we going to get this on a iPhone any time soon? Not quite. But let’s remember that an iPad has more processing power than a Cray Super Computer in 1984. 26 years to go until we get our pocket x-ray machine.
